From Amanda Morrow:
I am an award-winning children's book illustrator who loves bringing stories to life through imaginative and engaging illustrations. I have illustrated multiple books with clients such as Random House Kids, Zonderkidz, Sourcebook Kids, and Tiger Tales.I have a love for illustrating adorable children and stylized animals, I pour heart and imagination to story-driven illustrations and thrive when I can play with color and texture in my work.
I believe a portfolio is like your resume. Every artist should have one for clients and viewers to find your work. It can be overwhelming to find a place to start but I want to simplify the process and give guidance to students to create a portfolio they will be proud to show to clients. During the class the participants will come out with a new portfolio piece or pieces and an online portfolio to showcase their work.
Class Overview:
The purpose of the class is for students to come out with a submission ready portfolio. Whether that be submitting agents or getting self-published work you need a professional portfolio for clients to view and to also showcase each artist's own individual styles.
We will be discussing the basics of the children’s book portfolio and how you can bring your own individuality and own storytelling skills.
Self-publishing can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming, confusing, and isolating. From formatting to distribution, marketing, and launch strategy, many writers get stuck trying to figure it all out alone.
This workshop was built to change that.
With a small cohort and practical, real-world guidance, you will leave with a clearer path forward and the support needed so you can hold your book in your hands and proclaim, I DID IT!
If you're serious about publishing your work, this program was made for you.
